Texas LB has ASU on his short list

Compared to recent years, the 2012 recruiting cycle has found the Sun Devils making a stronger effort to recruit the state of Texas. While it is premature to measure the rate of the success of that initiative, prospects such as Ryan Flannigan have been receptive so far to the Sun Devils' recruiting efforts.

"Recruiting is going well with Arizona State," said the 6-1 200 Ryan Flannigan. "(defensive line) Coach Brown has been to my school to watch me practice and has been keeping in contact with me. They offered me a month ago and I got to talk on the phone with coach Brown and also their linebackers coach (Trent Bray).
