Young pledges to ASU

A source close to the recruitment of Chris Young informed Devils Digest that the Arizona Western safety committed to the Sun Devils during his official visit which concluded today.

The 6-0 215-pound Chris Young, also had offers from Oregon State, Washington State and Indiana. He visited those three schools, as well as Ohio State, during the recruiting process. Young graduated from Auburn (Wash.) High School and signed with the University of Washington, but was unable to qualify.

As sophomore, Young posted 111 tackles (45 solo) to go along with 30 tackles-for-loss, 8.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and two interceptions. He also scored six defensive touchdowns from his 'Rover' position. Following that season he was name first-team All-American.
