Eye On Recruiting: Zach Webb

Zach Webb

Zach Webb was planning a visit to New Mexico, until the playoffs broke out in Oklahoma.

Zach Webb the 6' 2" 280lb two way player (Defensive Tackle/Left Tackle) had originally scheduled a visit to the University of New Mexico on the weekend of November 17th, but a funny thing happened as travel plans were being finalized.

"We made the playoffs as the #1 seed, "said Zach Webb referring to Metro Christian Academy's run in the Oklahoma State football playoffs. "And as the #1 seed we anticipate playing that weekend.

Webb also let it be known that it was his birthday weekend and his family has some important things planned for Zach that weekend, still he says, "I still plan on coming to New Mexico some time in the future."Earlier this week Coach Davie of the Lobos said that he and his staff are looking for players with high motors that aren't afraid to work hard, and in speaking with Zach Webb you can see why New Mexico as well as other schools are interested in the Patriots defensive lineman.

"I play both ways," says Webb. "I'm a physical player that plays with a lot of heart and gets the job done. I'm a team player that likes to be out there with my buddies and having fun hitting people bringing home the W. I'm very coach able."

Yes when a college coach hears that coming from a young man it is no wonder they are taking notice. As far as those schools taking notice, "I have a few offers from some D-II schools and I'm currently being recruited by New Mexico, Tulsa, Penn St., and Arizona St."

Zach told us that he will still be coming to visit New Mexico some time, and he has another visited to Penn State on November 24th. "I also go to all of Tulsa's home games as they are in my backyard," said Webb.

At this point Webb isn't sure when he will pull the trigger on where he will be attending college, but when the time comes he knows what he wants and that he and his family will be looking at things closely when the decision is made.

"I'm going to see what my options are and take into account my family, and what school fits me both academically and football wise," said Webb…

TheRedMenace.com would like to thank Zach Webb for taking some time with us and would like to wish Zach a Happy Birthday later this month.
