Ballage signs with Arizona State

Arizona State fans can now exhale. The anxious wait for Kalen Ballage has come to an end. The Falcon, Col. running back who committed to the Sun Devils nearly two months ago and took three visits to Pac-12 foes over the last two weekends has signed and sent in his National Letter of Intent.

The running back was set to send in his letter yesterday at high school ceremony, but since school was called off due to snow Ballage's much awaited announcements has been postponed. Rumors ran rampant as to whether it was going to be rescheduled this week or next, but Ballage ended all that suspense on Thursday morning.

The 6-3 215-pound Kalen Ballage is the proverbial physical specimen with deft power and speed combination who played every position other than offensive line in high school. As a senior he carried the ball 206 times for 1,943 yards (9.4 avg.) with 25 touchdowns and posted16 receptions for 360 yards (22.5 avg.) and six scores. All totaled he had 2,628 all-purpose yards. On defense he collected 32 total tackles (28 solo) with 2.5 sacks and two interceptions.

He visited Nebraska and more recently Washigton, Colorado and UCLA with the later being the strongest contender for his services down the stretch. He also had offers from Boise State, Colorado State, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Michigan, Mississippi State, Nebraska, and Vanderbilt among others.

Ballage represents the final piece of the 2014 ASU football signing day class. The group of 26 players has a no. 2 ranking in the Pac-12 and 16th nationaly, the best ranking ever for the program in the Internet era. Recommended Stories
