Jamaal Lewis Reinstated

After serving a two-game suspension for alleged reckless driving, Arizona State Head Coach Dirk Koetter announced that the senior wide receiver will travel to the team's road game at Colorado this weekend.

"I'm gonna take Jamaal Lewis of suspension and he will play this week," stated Koetter following Wednesday's night practice. "Based on the information that I have available to me at this time; I think two games is adequate."

Koetter didn't specify Lewis' transgression, but remarked that "Jamaal did something that was stupid, selfish and dangerous. We can't have that kind of behavior and to give up two games of your senior season is a lot. It could be more added to it of more information comes down the pipe. For right now, two-game suspension served and he'll be on the travel squad to Colorado."

Under the advice of his attorney, Lewis didn't comment on his reinstatement, but his remarks concerning this alleged incident may be delivered sometime next week.

At 6-4 229, Lewis is the team's most physical wide receiver and can also play at TE/HB, a role he played last year. In 2005 he scored five touchdowns on only 23 passes, and averaged 19.4 yards a catch (total yards 446). Lewis graduated from Rampart High School in Colorado Springs.

Koetter also stated that Rudy Burgess, who suffered a concussion in last week's game against Nevada is still day-to-day and that his condition didn't impact the decision he made regardless to Lewis.
