WR Enjoys Visit to School of Choice
Two of the prospects visiting together with Simpson, were fellow Phoenix area high school prospects: defensive end William Yancy and offensive lineman Marcel Jones. "I grew up with Marcel and played basketball with him in our younger days," recalled Simpson. "Will and I live down the street from each other. I think there's a good chance they'll both stay close to home and come to ASU."
Simpson's school, the Peoria Panthers are 3-2 on the season, a fact that hasn't prevented this ASU commit of putting up some impressive numbers in 2006. "I've scored five touchdowns," he remarked. "I have 225 yards receiving, and I'm averaging 25 yards a reception." Two of his scores came via the ground, and overall he has 123 yards rushing.
The wide receiver mentioned that his early commitment was due to his desire to concentrate on his senior season and his studies. Has that goal been achieved in his mind? "It actually has," he replied. "You don't have to worry about coaches calling you all the time wanting to talk to you. You can concentrate on school and on football and getting my team to the next level."
