Guy Will Make Decision Next Month

The race for the services of Lawrence Guy has been a three-team battle for a few months now. Arizona State is on the Western (Nev.) defensive lineman's short list and hosted Guy for an official visit in Tempe this past weekend. The four-star prospect shared his impressions of his trip with Devils Digest on Sunday evening.

"It was a good visit," said the 6-5 250 Lawrence Guy. "The game was fun. I got to hang out with the players. Bo Moos and Jarrell Holman were my hosts. I sat down with the coaches and went over game film and looked at the schemes the run and the depth chart."

With a sold-out Sun Devil stadium and a come from behind victory over 18th ranked Cal, it's no wonder that Guy was impressed with the atmosphere on Saturday night. "The fans were real loud and it was an exciting game," Guy commented. "I like how the defense always attacked and put pressure on the quarterback."

Guy mentioned that he has moved from defensive tackle to defensive end this season, and through eight games has tallied 72 total tackles and 12.5 sacks for the 7-1 Warriors. As a junior he collected 90 tackles and 11 sacks. He's all but assured to repeat his Nevada all-state honors from last season.

Arizona State offered a scholarship back in the spring, and the school has been listed by Guy as one of three programs he would like to visit before giving his pledge. The lineman already visited Oklahoma earlier this month, and as far as the third school, Tennessee, Guy stated that "I'm visiting them this weekend…I will make my decision the week after that visit."
