Troy Nolan Had 10 Tackles vs. USC

Posted Nov 24, 2007

It didn't turn out how Sun Devil fans had hoped but there's still plenty left for Arizona State to play for. An outside shot at a Fiesta Bowl berth or trips to the Holiday or Sun Bowls are still at stake. Here’s how ASU’s first-year players faired in Thursday's 44-24 loss to USC.

Defensive tackle Jon Hargis played despite suffering a separated shoulder at UCLA. The redshirt freshman chipped in two solo tackles. Luis Vasquez added three stops at defensive end. Morris Wooten, helping in a busy night for the linebackers, had five tackles.

Safety Troy Nolan paced the secondary with ten tackles, including one for a loss. True freshman cornerback Omar Bolden finished with one stop and a pass break up.

On the heels of being named one of three finalists for the Lou Groza Award earlier this week, Thomas Weber nailed another field goal for the Devils. The redshirt freshman hit a 25-yard field goal early in the second quarter. Weber didn't fare as well in the punting game as senior Jonathan Johnson replaced him after his first three punts of the game. He finished with a 33 yard average.

Other game participants were Jonathan English, Kerry Taylor, and Jamarr Robinson.
