Local Cornerback Pledges to ASU

When Head Coach Dennis Erickson was hired by the Sun Devils, it was quite clear that a heavy emphasis will be put on improving the speed of the defense. They certainly don't come much faster than Deveron Carr. The Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral cornerback visited ASU this weekend, and wasn't slow to make his verbal commitment. He talked Scout.com of his decision earlier today.

"I told the coaches at 12:30 that I committed," said the 6-1 185 Deveron Carr who runs a 4.34 . "I was talking to Coach Erickson and he was asking me about committing, and I committed right then.
