R.Bass had a career game w/56 yards on 10 carries

Several Arizona State newcomers were productive in the 54-20 loss to the Oregon Ducks on Saturday night.

True freshman Ryan Bass led the team in rushing. Bass gained 56 yards on 10 carries. His longest run of the night went for 18 yards.

Wide receivers T.J. Simpson and Gerell Robinson each caught a pass. Simpson scored on a 4-yard pass from Danny Sullivan late in the game. The redshirt freshman also had two kickoff returns for a total of 43 yards.

Lawrence Guy paced all newcomers on defense with three tackles, including one for a loss. Defensive ends Jamaar Jarrett and Jamarr Robinson both notched a solo tackle.

Freshman linebackers Shelly Lyons and Brandon Magee combined for three tackles. Oliver Aaron, a redshirt freshman, added two solo stops as did Colin Parker.

Terell Carr finished with two solo tackles and a pass break-up in his start at cornerback. Pierre Singfield notched two stops as a reserve. True freshman corner Josh Jordan added a solo tackle.

Glendale Community College transfer Trevor Hankins, who split punting duties with Thomas Weber, finished with a 31.7-yard average on three punts against the Ducks.

Other game participants include: Garth Gerhart, James Brooks, Thomas Ohmart, Zach Schlink, Brent Good, and Stanley Malamala.
